Association of Insurance Professionals
The Manitoba Association of Insurance
Professionals (formerly known as the Insurance Women's Association of Manitoba)
have been a Proud Charter Member of the Canadian Association of Insurance Women
(C.A.I.W.) since 1966.
We work towards and believe in the C.A.I.W. mission statement to preserve and
enhance the value of our member Associations through Education, Networking, and
to foster Personal Growth.
We are pleased that you have expressed an interest in M.A.I.P. and hope our
creed, 'Education, Fellowship, and Loyalty' become a true reality for you.
We are a voluntary Association whose members are either employed in the
insurance industry or associated with our industry. Our purpose is to
participate and contribute to the enhancement of:
EDUCATION - improving our knowledge of the insurance industry and keeping
pace with the changes in the industry through educational programs.
FELLOWSHIP - emphasizing the need and benefits to be derived from
networking and friendships among those in the insurance industry locally and
abroad through C.A.I.W.
LOYALTY - instilling high ethical standards in business relations and
loyalty towards one another in our social relations.
To achieve our goals, the Manitoba Association of Insurance Professionals offer:

1. |
Regular monthly dinner meetings with an
educational speaker that is accredited by the Insurance Council of Manitoba.
Our meetings are held, the third Tuesday of each month (Sept - May), at the
historic Fort Garry Hotel on Broadway Avenue in downtown Winnipeg.
5:00 pm - Cocktails
5:30 pm - Meeting begins
6:15 pm - Dinner
7:00 pm - Presentation of the educational speaker
The presentation is usually 1 hour in length with a question and answer period
to follow. All regular members and guests are invited to attend.

An annual Wine & Cheese event
which is one of the few events in Winnipeg that encompasses ALL members of the
insurance industry (companies, brokers, adjusters, alike) and is attended by
approximately 550 to 600 people each year. This event is usually held during the
first week of October each year. For tickets please call any member of the
M.A.I.P. Executive.

Insurance Information Campaign is
held throughout the year to promote awareness within the industry to ultimately
help better the public's perception of insurance.

4. |
Annual Public Speaking Contest
with an award of a trophy (locally sponsored by Kernaghan Adjusters) and a paid
trip to represent the Association at the C.A.I.W. annual convention and chance
to win nationally.

5. |
An opportunity to take part in
National Essay Contest and win a trophy and cash prize.
|
|
6. |
Achievement Awards for those
members who successful in receiving their designations, CAIB, CIP, or FCIP..
|
|
7. |
A golf tournament in the summer
(usually August) and a wonderful Holiday Season silent auction for charity. We
are happy to support Alpha House in Winnipeg. It is transitional housing for
abused women & children.

An opportunity to travel and take
part in C.A.I.W. National Convention, which is held in a different Canadian city
each year, to network with others across Canada and participate in excellent
education programs.
